According to Hindu mythology, there exist four yugas (period) they are Satyayuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparyuga & Kaliyuga. The cycle keeps on repeating over and over. As it has been believed, the present world is in the beginning phase of Kaliyuga as well as in the transition phase between Dwparyuga to Kaliyuga so-called golden age (first 1000 years of Kaliyuga).
When was Kaliyuga started?
It was started on Feb 18th of 3102 BC which seems to complete its 5000 years on the same day of 2016 AD. The total period of the Kaliyuga will be 4,32,000 years.
How does Kaliyuga looks like?
As time passes on, the number of non-religious and atheist people will increase which leads to an increase in the number of wrongdoers (thieves and murderers). There will be a lack of sense of help and friendship among people. The truth will be the rarest thing to find in human beings. People will not hesitate to kill people. The rich and the bold people will rule the society although they are illiterate and greedy. All the ethnic group will slowly forget their principles and authenticity. Male people will be under the control of females. Male people will have a stronger bond with the family members of their spouse rather than their family of themselves. Wives will not respect their husbands. Women will make relations with other males for physical satisfaction cheating on their husbands. The tree will not be able to bear fruits and the lands will remain uncultivated.
People will be diagnosed with many diseases and will start to grow old at the age of 16. Females will start their mensuration cycle and be able to give birth to their child at the age of 8.
How does Kaliyuga ends?
As Kalki Purana says, a father named Vishnu Yash and a mother Sumati will give birth to Lord Kalki (the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu) at the end of Kaliyuga. He will kill all the wrongdoers in just 3 days. He will marry an avatar of Goddess Laxmi and rule this planet for 1000 years to re-establish the religion.
The last phase of Kaliyuga (Ghor Kaliyuga) will starts with acid rains which will destroy the vegetation. It has been illustrated that the earth will have 12 years of continuous rainfall. Consequently, the temperature of the sun will be increased by 12 times to vapourize the water and the world will be a new place to start the yuga cycle again.
